What does a typical day at the B.T.B.C. feel like?
There is nothing typical about a day in the life of a BTBC Troopie! Our program is designed in a progressive format to gradually expose the participant to activity. Each class provides an experience in fitness that extends far beyond the traditional ‘gym’ workout; in fact, we refer to our program as a “club without walls” because while the camaraderie of a club atmosphere exists, we are not bound by 4 walls! You can count on every day at the BTBC to provide you with an adventurous workout experience that is diverse and exciting while being inspiring, motivating, and challenging.
Do I have to be “in shape” to participate?
No, we hope that we will GET you in shape! Our sessions accommodate a multi-level client base by demonstrating and encouraging modifications when necessary. We have beginner Recruits working out in the same sessions as our conditioned Private’s. Everyone is encouraged to be the best they can be on any given day.
What are the benefits of attending a B.T.B.C.?
Well, let’s see……….a buff butt, lean legs, lower body fat, smaller waist, stronger and more defined muscles, improved zest for life, incessant laughter, improved self-esteem, increased flexibility, improved physical conditioning, sense of camaraderie, and increased overall health and well being; need I say more?
What kind of results can I expect?
Results vary and depend largely on individual initiative. If you remain committed to the B.T.B.C. schedule and adhere to our nutritional suggestions and weekly assignments you should have no trouble accomplishing your mission of sculpting muscle, burning fat, losing inches, losing pounds and getting in the best shape of your life! To learn what the B.T.B.C. has done for others, read our Troop Testimonials.
What is the timeline for actually seeing results?
Success begins immediately, just by showing up for the first day of camp. Lifestyle and behavioral results are just as important as losing body fat and inches, so, just by showing up for class, you are seeing results in those areas. If you remain committed to your mission and attend all scheduled days of camp and follow our nutritional suggestions, you will see noticeable improvement in your overall level of conditioning and self-confidence within the first two weeks of camp. It is very common for our participants to see a 10-12 pound weight loss with a 2-5% reduction in body fat and anywhere from 1-5 inches in total circumference inch loss with an overall increase in muscular strength and endurance upon completion of our 4-week camp.
Is it co-ed?
The B.T.B.C. welcomes all genders!
Is there an orientation of some kind?
We do provide the opportunity to receive a pre and post camp assessment. Our “Basic Training Assessment” is a non-mandatory appointment to have your body fat and circumference measurements calculated to provide a basis for measuring your physical results. The ‘Basic Training Assessment’ will be scheduled upon your request and it only takes a few minutes to complete. To further enhance your success during our 4-week camp you will recieve weekly "Fit-spirations"; email fit tips and inspirational messages.
Where do I go after I finish my first camp session?
Why into the next session of course! Getting and staying in top physical condition is a lifestyle commitment so our sessions run consecutively to keep our troop in shape. As our program develops, we will be offering additional camp challenges for the elite and extreme experience.
Is it like “real” boot camp, military style?
This is a fitness boot camp and while there is no screaming and yelling in this boot camp experience, we have been known for waking up the neighborhood with our energy level! Our Drill Instructor’s (D.I’s) are motivating without being intimidating. Team B.T.B.C. takes pride in being professional and inspiring while kicking your butt. We will keep your motor running from “Fall-In” to “Fall-Out”. We will monitor your progress to keep the workout safe and effective and suggest modifications to either increase or decrease your personal intensity level.
Will I get nutritional suggestions?
Yes you will! Accomplishing your mission is our goal. Nutrition plays a significant role in achieving weight loss results and we are committed to giving you all the tools necessary to succeed at your mission. We will give you proven nutritional strategies designed to help you lose fat and keep it off in your weekly "Fit-spirations"!
What happens if I miss a class?
Attendance is a critical component of boot camp! Attendance is the sole responsibility of the participant. If you are going to be AWOL (absent without liberty) please let your Drill Instructor know in advance if possible. It is our mission to contact AWOL Recruits and Privates via email and/or telephone in the event of an absence so you may be contacted by your Drill Instructor if you are not in class!
Can I make-up missed classes?
Each camp participant is allowed 3 make-up days for missed classes regardless of reason; i.e., over slept, went on vacation, dog ate my mat, etc. Missed classes must be made up in the next scheduled BTBC Session or they will be forfeited. Missed classes are non-transferrable. No cash refund will be given for missed classes.
What if something unforeseen happens and I can’t complete my camp?
If you miss 4 or more consecutive classes or are unable to complete the camp session that you are registered for, and have started, due to injury or major illness, a camp credit may be issued towards a future camp session if medical proof has been submitted from your attending Physician. Your camp credit must be used within 6 months of issuance or it will be forfeited. This camp credit is non-transferable and not negotiable.
What is your refund policy?
No cash refunds will be offered after the first day of class of a scheduled session. In the event you are unable to attend a scheduled session that you have reserved a spot in, and you have paid in full in advance, a refund will be issued within 30-days of receipt of your cancellation notification less a $30 cancellation fee. No cash refunds will be given for missed days.
Do you offer camp credits for missed sessions?
While our policy is not to offer cash refunds for session cancellations after the first day of a scheduled session, we will extend a full camp credit towards another boot camp session. This policy also applies to cancellation due to a medical issue. This credit is non-transferable and must be used within 6 months of issuance. No exceptions.
Can I join late in the session if you’ve already started?
We often have participants that register late for a scheduled session. In the event a participant registers after the first day of a scheduled session a proration will be calculated to account for the missed classes. We only accept late registrations up to the end of week 2 of a 4 week session.
Do you offer any kind of discounts?
We take pride in keeping our BTBC Experience affordably priced for all participants at any given time of registration. There are times that discounts may be extended based on our discretion as well as during special event promotions.
What if I can’t join the whole session, can I just drop-in and workout?
While we encourage consistency and believe that seeing results takes a committed effort of more than one workout, we do accept daily drop-in fees for single boot camp class workouts. The following rates apply:
Previous Member of BTBC: $20
Guest Accompanied by Member: $20
Non-Member: $25
Can I try a class for free to see if I like it before I enlist in a whole session?
Due to the popularity of our program we often max out our class size and cannot offer free classes outside of advertised events. We do offer the opportunity for free classes during special events and during “Liberty Week”. "Liberty Week" is the last week of a scheduled session and the only time that a member can bring a guest for FREE. You are welcome to try out the BTBC Experience your first time for the drop-in fee of $25 if you come without a member, $20 if you are accompanied by a member. If you decide to join the BTBC after you try it, your drop-in fee of $20 or $25 will be applied to your session registration fee.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable workout attire. Most of our troopies wear leggings or sweat pants with a t-shirt or tank top. No thongs or perfume, please. Good quality running or cross-training shoes are highly recommended. Dress in layers when the weather is cool. For an outer shell, use a garment made of material which permits sweat vapor to escape. Synthetic materials such a Body Armour are excellent for colder weather workouts. When it’s cold, cover your extremities with gloves and a hat or ear covers.
What do I need to bring to class?
You will need to bring an exercise or yoga mat, a pair of dumbbells based on your fitness level, a bottle of water, and a sassy, can-do-it attitude. Women generally begin with 3-5 pound dumbbells and gradually increase over a period of time and men generally begin with 5-10 pounds.
What happens if it rains?
You’ll get wet.
What if I can’t do some of the drills?
Due to the beauty of the BTBC accommodating a multi-level client base that includes all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels, we will show you a modification for any drill that is uncomfortable for you to perform. We have options at the BTBC!
